Name of the Division: Forest Protection Division

History and genesis of the division:
The Forest Protection Division was established by the
government during the year 1987 by upgrading from Protection Cell of Chief
Conservator of Forests office under control of Conservator of Forest Resources
& Development circle with its Headquarter at Aizawl. Being a functional
Division it has no jurisdiction like territorial Division and therefore
activities cover the entire State. Since the inception of this Division, it
play a vital role in the protection of Natural Forests Resources, Government
Plantations, Reserve Forests and Wildlife of the State.
